|  | Offshore Arabia 2009 issues significant recommendationsJan 13, 2009 - 10:22 - WAM Dubai, 13th Jan. 2009 (WAM) -- Offshore Arabia Conference and Exhibition called today for analyzing the environmental present and future problems and obstacles and drafting national and regional plans with the objective to draw strategies to adapt with future climate changes. The event concluded the three days sessions held at the Madinat Jumeirah from the 11th - 13th of January 2009 by issuing the following communiqu . The conference has the honor to highly value the significant strides made by the UAE in the fields of economic and social development and environment conservation and development, the final communique said. The conference had reviewed highly significant and important issues related to energy and environment like The Energy Challenges, Climate Change, Managing Resources and the Environment ,Health, Safety, Security and Rescue, Sustainability, Global Environment and the Role of Governments and Offshore and Onshore Protections. The recommendations called on ; Countries in the region to review the current laws and regulation related to environment and ensure that they are compatible with the international accredited laws and regulations incorporated in the present protocols and Agreements signed by the States in the Region; Analyze the environmental present and future problems and obstacles and draft national and regional plans with the objective to draw strategies to adapt with future climate changes; Activate and enhance local and regional activities and participate in drafting plans to preserve and protect environmental marine and coastal pollution of all types; Enhance and encourage cooperation between national and regional corporations with aim to protect and lessen environment pollution and climate change in the Region; Increase environment awareness among different segments of the societies by employing local and regional media; and Strengthen collaboration between the Regional Organization for the Protection of Marine Environment (ROPME), the Regional Clean Sea Organization (RECSO) and UNESCO for facilitating science industry, government cooperation for sustainable development , biodiversity conservation climatic change, adaptation for human wellbeing.
