Labour crises management officials across UAE meet in DubaiApr 14, 2009 - 08:31 - WAM Dubai, Apr 14th, 2009 (WAM): The Commander General of the Dubai Police Lt.General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim stressed the importance of resolving labour problems in the most civilised way satisfying all parties in a labour relationship.
Chairing a meeting of the team leaders of the labour crises management, affiliated to the national level higher committee for labour crises management, Tamim also gave directives to set up adequate coordination with municipalities and Labour ministry offices in various emirates to guarantee cleanliness of labour housing.
The meeting was held as per directives from Interior Minister Lt.General HH Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan at the General command of the Dubai Police.
In his directives, Tamim underscored the importance of ensuring adequate standards of cleanliness and safety in labour camps and penalize any violations. He also stressed the need for field inspections and periodic reports in order to find solutions for impediments obstructing proper unification of the procedures in this regard.
Satisfactions of workers and company owners, as well as provision of suitable housing for labourers are important, Tamim said. He underlined the need for spreading the culture of social responsibility and security and creating the awareness among owners of private firms on the need for guaranteeing their workers a life in dignity by meeting their rights.
