Meet the Experts.. a specialised workshop about fillers and their latest methods

WAM Dubai, 27 April, 2009 (WAM) - The Dubai World Dermatology and Laser Conference and Exhibition (Dubai Derma) commenced its second day at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, whereas the second day conversed the updates on Cosmetic Dermatology, Nail treatment, Body Contouring, Lasers and Case Reports from local hospitals.

Three thousand was the number of participants and trade visitors who registered at the end of the second day, while the conference topics touched upon cosmetic dermatology, Body Contouring, Lasers additional to Nail Symposium and Case Reports from Al Ain and Khalifa Hospital.

The second day was marked by o specialised accredited workshops that concentrated on fillers used to reduce wrinkles and its effect on the face. The workshop was entitled "Meet the Experts", as world's pioneer dermatologists discussed the fillers and its latest techniques in full.

Dr. Hassan Galadari, Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the UAE University said that "the Soft Tissue Augmentation Workshop was very beneficial to all cosmetic dermatologists and participants. It referred to the methods adopted in injections and the complications caused by wrong injection followed by some doctors.

He also said that the workshops are practical applications that allow specialised doctors to review the new and updated methods of injecting to prevent any kind of complication that might happen during injecting the patient.

Workshops were delivered by very high profile speakers from the United States; Dr. Bruce Katz and Dr. Michael Gold. The doctors revealed the latest developments and process used in the world of cosmetics, while tomorrow's workshop will be on Mesotherapy. Moreover, Al Ain and Khalifa Hospitals will review some of the difficult cases and how to be treated.

Dr. Galadari also thanked UAE University for granting 4 Credit Hours for participants to enhance the continuous education in this field of specialty, he also declared that for the first time the registration for the workshops was closed way back, that reflects the value of such workshops.

Dr. Bruce Katz; a clinical Professor of Dermatology at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York said "Dubai Derma was a perfect place to exchange scientific views and data with colleagues in the Middle East and learning from their experiences as well." He continued "I believe that this meeting is an opportunity for all doctors attending Dubai Derma to learn about new approaches in skin care as well as laser and cosmetics surgery, and I am looking forward to be at this very impressive congress every year." Dr. Michael Gold; Clinical assistant professor, Department of Dermatology, Vanderbit University School of medicine in the United States said " I am glad with the number of dermatologists gathering here during this event, it's an opportunity to see and learn the various trends and ideas in dermatology with a world - wide faculty." He continued "I am honoured to share mu insights and skills in this outstanding event. Dubai Derma is a unique event taking place in a unique city, Dubai, and I la looking forward to come back again for many years ahead". The workshops will continue tomorrow, while specialists will discuss mesotherapy treatment.

Dubai Derma 2009 is an excellent opportunity for dermatologists, Dermatology resident physicians and medical students to benefit from the workshops; as they will provide an update on the latest advances and practices in Dermatology, Laser treatments, anti - aging, skin and hair care and other dermatological therapies.

Dr. Zeina Tannous, A professor in Dermatology in Harvard University delivered a lecture about clinical applications of nonblative resurfacing, and how it can review some of the basic research that led to the development of these treatments as well as the histological basis for the clinical improvement of photoaging, rhytides, melasma, acne scars and thermal burns.

Dr. Zeina hailed the participants in Dubai Derma 2009, and she also added that the Conference and exhibition is an international forum and one of the top exhibitions in the Middle East specialised in Dermatology and skin care, especially that Middle Eastern skin is different than westerners. She was also impressed with the prestigious Emararati Participants and health sector.
