Public consultation sessions begin in Al Gharbia

Abu Dhabi, 10 Aug, 2009 (WAM) - Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council (UPC), the agency responsible for the future physical planning of Abu Dhabi, has commenced the public consultation sessions for Al Gharbia under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region. Al Gharbia is spanned across a 60,000 square kilometer area and accounts for 83% of Abu Dhabi Emirate's landmass. The sessions, attended by local Government authorities, along with its residents, are aimed at formulating the urban framework - Plan Al Gharbia 2030. Aamir Al Hamadi, UPC's Assistant Planning Manager '&' Head of the working team for Plan Al Gharbia 2030 presented details of the plan with the citizens of Ghayathi and Bad'a Al Matawa'a. Rashid bin Suwaid Al Mansouri, Director of Ghayathi Hospital, said the Sheikh Hamdan issued directives to increase the hospital's capacity from 50 beds to 80. WAM/MAB
