WAM Dubai, Nov 17th, 2009 (WAM)--Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, received here today afternoon in his office at Dubai Air Show 2009, President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko and his entourage.

Sheikh Mohammed welcomed the Ukrainian president, hoping his visit would further enhance the cultural, economic, investment and technological cooperation ties between the two friendly countries.

On his part, President Yushchenko expressed his admiration about the progress of the UAE, particularly in the economic, social and technological areas, hailing the high level of infrastructure in the country. He paid a special tribute to Sheikh Mohammed on his huge efforts in regard to the economic and human resources development, as well as infrastructure.

He briefed Sheikh Mohammed about Ukraine potentials to forge investment partnership, thanking the UAE for providing the logistical facilities to the Ukrainian Companies taking part at the Dubai Air Show.

Present in the meeting were Dubai Crown Prince HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group and Chairman of Higher Organising Committee of Dubai Air Show, HE Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, the Cabinet Affairs Minister, HE Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al Owais, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community DEvelopment, ministers and high ranking officials.

Sheikh Mohmmed also received Qatari Prime Minister HH Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabr Al Thani in presence of Dubai Crown Prince HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The Qatari PM conveyed the regrds of Qatari Emir HH Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani to Sheikh Mohammed on the success of Dubai Air Show 2009.

The Qatari official commended the organisation and huge international participation at the event, adding that the show reflects advanced position of the UAE on the world economic map and its role in strengthening the economic and investment contacts between the countries in the region and the industrial countries in Euroupe and others.

The meeting was attended by a number of Sheikhs, ministers and Qatari Ambassador to UAE Abdullah Mohammed Al Osman.
