WAM Abu Dhabi, Nov 29th, 2009 (WAM)--The Red Crescent Authority distributed this year sacrificial animals in 60 countries worldwide.

The beneficiaries were 36, 000 families about 200, 000 people. 13, 000 sacrificial animals were slaughtered. The cost of the sacrificial animlas abroad was Dh5.5mllion.

On the first day of Eid Al Adha, the sacrificial animals were slaughtered and distributed through the RCA offices abroad and the UAE embassies in cooperation with the charity organisations in those countries.

HE Ahmed Humaid Al Mazrouei, Board Chairman of the RCA, said the RCA has increased the number of beneficiaries of sacrificial animals locally and abroad to cover greater number of the needy families as per instructions from HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Representative of Ruler in Western Region and Chairman of the RCA.

He commended the philanthropists for their positive respond to contribute in the project.
