WAM Amman, Dec. 23rd, 2009 (WAM) -- HE Hasan Issa Al Hosani, Charge d'affaires of the UAE Embassy in Jordan, last night attended the annual celebrations of Etihad Airways, the UAE National Airline at the "Le Meridien" Hotel here in Amman.

The celebration was attended by Hareb Al Muhairi, Vice President of Corporate Communications in "Etihad Airways", Maen Abdul Halim, Regional General Manager of Etihad Airways in the Middle East and Africa, Mohammed Taisir, Director of Etihad Airways Bureau in Amman, in addition to travel agents, businessmen and media persons.

On the occasion Al Muhairi said that the company has made a lot of efforts during the past six years to become a strong brand in the provision of offering quality services in the aviation world since Etihad Airways won the prize of World's Leading Airline.

He further said that that the company is proceeding with its expansion strategy through opening new routes to Japan and Abu Dhabi will become the focal point among some Arab countries and cities of Japan.

He added that the wing of first-class at Etihad Airways is considered the best in the air and that the company will get within days, an "Airbus 300" which is unique for having a private room in the first class cabin.

He noted that the company has begun improvements to air services in the cabins of business and tourist class equal to five star hotel services.

On the other hand, Maen Abdul Halim presented a detailed explanation of the company's plans, and achievements during the past six years pointing out that Etihad Airways offers services to around 57 world destinations with a fleet of 52 aircrafts.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, Al Muhairi, Maen Abdul Halim and Mohamed Taisir honored a number of travel agents and tourism companies that have contributed to the provision of services and the promotion of Etihad Airways in the Jordanian market.
