WAM Al Ain, 26 Dec. 2009 (WAM) - President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Saeed of Oman held a round of talks today at Al Reef Palace in Al Ain, in presence of Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Sheikh Khalifa welcomed Sultan Qaboos who is heading a high ranking delegation on a visit to the UAE which comes within the framework of continuing contacts between the two countries' leadership to deepen cooperation in all fields.

The two leaders reviewed during their meeting the historic fraternal relations and ways to enhance them for the interest of the peoples of the UAE and Oman.

The talks also touched on issues of concern to the two countries and to the GCC and Arab countries. The two leaders also exchanged views on the current developments both regionally and internationally.

Sheikh Khalifa said he was looking forward to further fruitful cooperation in a way that will achieve joint aspirations and strengthen partnership in different domains.

Sultan Qaboos expressed pleasure at visiting the country as part of the continuing coordination between the two countries which reflects the strong bonds and brotherly ties between the peoples of two countries.

Sheikh Khalifa hosted a luncheon in honour of Sultan Qaboos and his accompanying delegation.

Earlier, Sheikh Khalifa and Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid received Sultan Qaboos upon his arrival at Al Reef Palace as he began a three-day visit to the UAE.

Sheikh Khalifa welcomed Sultan Qaboos and members of his accompanying delegation, wishing them a pleasant stay in the UAE.

Sultan Qaboos was also received by H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President's Representative, General H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme commander of the UAE Armed Forces, H.H. Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, the Ruler's Representative in the Eastern Region, H.H. Sheikh Suroor bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor, Lt. General h.H. Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Zayed Charitable and Humanitarian Works Foundation, H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, H.H. Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chief of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court and Chairman of the ZoneCorps, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Finance Department, Sheikhs and senior officials.

Upon his arrival in Khatm Al Shakla border post, Sultan Qaboos was greeted by Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed and Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed.
