Sheikh Nahyan holds meeting with Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan

WAM Abu Dhabi, Feb.2nd, 2010 (WAM) -- HE Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, yesterday held a meeting with HE Tuvakmammed Japarov, Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan at his Palace. The Turkmen Deputy Premier is currently visiting UAE along with his delegation on the occasion of Turkmenistan Investment Forum in Abu Dhabi for the first time. The meeting was attended by HE Dr. Rashid Ahmed bin Fahad, Minister of Environment and Water, HH Sheikh Shakhbout bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, businessmen and academician. Sheikh Nahyan outlined educational system in the UAE, and said that President HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has given extra emphasis on the development of various aspects of the educational process to cope with the future demands. He also pointed out that education is high on the agenda and priorities of the leadership governance. He said that higher education has solid foundations in the country and many higher education institutions including UAE University, Zayed University and Higher Colleges of Technology have 50 thousand male and female local students and offering around 250 scientific bachelor majors and master degrees, noting that 70 per cent of students are females, which reflects the country's keenness to educate women.
