Hamdan bin Rashid highlights achievements of DEWA

WAM Dubai, Mar 10th, 2010 (WAM)--The Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Finance Minister and Chairman of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has hailed the DEWA in its golden jubilee anniversary, stressing that it has been serving with excellence sustainable development in the emirate over the last five decades.

He added that the DEWA "is one of the most successful public institutions at the local, regional and international levels as its glaring achievements could not be ignored".

Delivering a statement to mark the golden jubilee of the DEWA, Sheikh Hamdan said that the DEWA has contributed in the current prospserity of the emirate, adding that it assets now stand at AED74billion and projects being executed put at cost AED29 billion.

Sheikh Hamdan noted that 7, 696 employees now work with the DEWA, adding that the institution would continue updating itself to meet increasing developmental demands. He commended the DEWA employees who exert utmost efforts to ensure delivery of the best services to public.
