Causes behind Oil Tanker, M. Star incident still mysterious

WAM Abu Dhabi, Jul 29th, 2010 (WAM)--The oil tanker, M. Star flying the flag of the Marshall Islands has suffered mysterious incident, whose causes are not yet known. It was reported that the incident occurred at the site of 26 degrees and 26.5 minutes north and 56 degrees 14 minutes east of the Strait of Hormuz on Wednesday. The tanker was carrying two million barrels of crude oil shipped from the port of Umm Saeed of Qatar and the UAE Port of Das Island. The tanker, which was on its way to Japan, reached the territorial waters of the UAE off the port of Fujairah, at 6.45pm yesterday. The competent authorities have embarked on investigating causes shrouding the accident, which did not result in any pollution to the environment or casualties. WAM/MN
