WAM ABU DHABI: The standing relations between the UAE and Algeria are based on mutual respect, consultation and common interests, Algeria's ambassador to the UAE Hameed Shubeira said.

The fraternal relations between the UAE and Algeria are supported by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and President Abdelaziz Bouteflika, Shubeira added in statements on the occasion of Algeria's 58th National Day.

The UAE-Algerian Joint Economic Committee is the optimal framework for cooperation between the two countries which saw signifigant developments over the past six years, in trade and investments in particular.
