Mohammed Bin Rashid renames Family Gathering Village
WAM DUBAI: The name of the Family Gathering Village in Al Khawaneej area was changed to "the "Zayed Bin Mohammed Family Gathering" upon orders from Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum today.
The Forum was opened by the Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein Cultural and Islamic Centre in February 2009.
Organized by the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai (IACAD) between 14 December 2012 and 6 April 2013, the Forum showcases the culture of Islam and the national heritage and identity of the UAE.
CEO of Institutional Support Affairs at ICAD, Mona Belhasa, said the move as part of wise directives by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed to make more efforts to improve the Forum and provide incentive to participants to this important family, tourism and heritage activity.
She added that the Forum which is backed by HRH Princess Haya bint Al Hussein, wife of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai contributed to the creation of promising tourism industry in the area.
