WAM Abu Dhabi, Mar 16th, 2013 (WAM) -- Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development received at his palace today Armando Guebuza, the President of Mozambique and South Sudan's vice-president Dr Riek Machar and their accompanying delegations.
He also received Boston University's Board of Trustees headed by the president of Boston University, Dr Robert Brown.
Sheikh Nahyan hosted a banquet in the honor of his guests and, welcomed president of Mozambique. The two sides explored opportunities of cooperation and ways of developing bonds between the two countries on the basis of the joint interests , particularly in business and trade fields, wishing progress and prosperity for the people of Mozambique in the coming years.
He also welcomed Riek Machar, Vice President of South Sudan and wished permanent peace, development and progress for the people of South Sudan. Sheikh Nahyan welcomed the representatives of Boston University.
He also pointed out that the UAE led by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan is looking forward to future and working on building a knowledge-based society.
Sheikh Nahyan added that the literacy rate in the UAE has become one of the highest in the world, citing that around 95 per cent of female students and 80 per cent of secondary school students set to enroll the higher education institutions.
He added that the three federal higher education institutions includes more than 40,000 students from which 110,000 students graduated, stressing that the higher education meets the aspirations of the country.
