Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa praises UAE's Al-Ahli Club on winning 33rd GCC Clubs Handball Championship
WAM Manama, Mar 26th, 2013 (WAM) -- Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa first deputy chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports of Bahrain has congratulated UAE's Al-Ahli Club on winning the 33rd GCC Clubs Handball Championship hosted in Manama.
He stressed the importance of regional sports events, in strengthening the ties of brotherhood and developing the spirit of love and communication between members of the GCC, in light of the Keenness of the leadership of the Gulf States.
UAE's Al-Ahli Club was crowned champion here on Monday after beating its Bahraini host Al-Ahli 32-30 in their final match of the 33rd GCC Clubs Handball Championship.
Al-Ahli was top of its Group, which includes Kuwait's Al-Kuwait Club, Qatar's Al-Rayyan, Bahrain's Al-Shabab, and Qatar's Al-Sadd.
Qatar's Al-Sadd won third place by beating its home team Al-Rayyan 35-29. The next 34th Championship is due to be held in March 2014 in Saudi Arabia.
