CÔTE D'IVOIRE, 18th January, 2024 (WAM) -- Nigeria defeated Ivory Coast 1-0 in the second round of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), currently being held in Côte d'Ivoire.
William Troost-Ekong netted the only goal of the match for Nigeria from the penalty spot in the 55th minute.
In the same group, Equatorial Guinea defeated Guinea-Bissau 4-2.
With these results, Equatorial Guinea leads Group A with four points, followed by Nigeria on three points. Ivory Coast, the host nation, is third with three points, and Guinea is last with no points.
