BEIJING, 4th April, 2024 (WAM) -- China's Shenzhou-17 crew has recently conducted groundbreaking in-orbit electroencephalogram (EEG) tests, which focused on the human brain in space.
According to China Global Television Network, the establishment of an in-orbit EEG test platform has been recently announced. This platform is described as safe, reliable, portable, and user-friendly, making it suitable for conducting various EEG research experiments. It provides solid assurance for astronauts to sustain optimal cognitive function and effectively perform tasks during their extended periods in space.
Furthermore, researchers have established standardised procedures for conducting EEG tests through ground experiments and in-orbit verifications.
The EEG tests are planned to be carried out in multiple phases by different batches of astronauts, and dozens of such tests have been conducted so far.
The three crew members, Tang Hongbo, Tang Shengjie, and Jiang Xinlin, entered space in October last year for a six-month space mission.
