UoS' Open Day introduces students to various academic programmes

SHARJAH, 3rd May, 2024 (WAM) -- Professor Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah (UoS), inaugurated the Open Day for high school students from various public and private schools across the country on Thursday.

The three-day event, organised by the Marketing and Student Recruitment Department (MSR), aims to introduce students to the vast array of academic programmes offered by UoS's colleges.

Attended by vice-chancellors, college deans, department directors, and administrative members, the Day provides students with an opportunity to review admission requirements, explore services provided by departments and centres, and discover career opportunities available across all majors.

Dr. Nadia Farhat, Director of the Marketing and Student Recruitment Department, highlighted that the Open Day attracted nearly 2,500 male and female students, underscoring its importance as a platform for high school students to interact with faculty and staff, addressing their queries.

She also mentioned that Saturday is designated for parents to join their children in exploring the University of Sharjah's campus and touring its scientific facilities, including state-of-the-art classrooms, laboratories, and research centres.

Through the Open Day, the University of Sharjah aims to attract outstanding students and assist them in making informed decisions about their academic paths. It seeks to equip them with the academic and career skills necessary for success in the job market.
