LIMA, 15th May, 2024 (WAM) -- Police in Peru reported on Tuesday that 13 people were killed in a crash on a highway in the South American country's Andean region, marking the latest fatal incident in a place where such accidents are frequent, Reuters reported.
The crash took place at 6:30 am (1130 GMT) near Vinchos, as stated by local authorities. Additionally, 14 people were reported injured in the incident.
Ayacucho district authorities said that seven ambulances and approximately two dozen health personnel were dispatched to the site. The injured were transported to three separate hospitals for treatment.
