Pakistan's IT services exports surge 33.84% in July 2024

ISLAMABAD, 23rd September, 2024 (WAM) -- Pakistan's Information Technology (IT) services exports reached $286.395 million in July 2024, marking a significant growth of 33.84% compared to $213.980 million in the same month last year, Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) reported.

According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), key highlights include a 44.14% surge in computer services, which increased from $172.680 million to $248.899 million. Notable increases were seen in software consultancy services, which rose by 47.38% from $58.425 million to $86.103 million. 

Repair and maintenance services experienced a remarkable rise of 1302.14%, climbing from $0.035 million to $0.490 million, while other computer services grew by 75.14%, from $63.453 million to $111.131 million.

Information services also showed positive trends, with a 47.50% increase from $0.300 million to $0.442 million, driven primarily by a 69.05% rise in other information services. However, telecommunication services faced a decline of 9.62%, dropping from $41 million to $37.053 million. Despite this overall decrease, call centre services recorded a 33.61% increase, rising from $15.993 million to $21.367 million.
