MOSCOW, 18th October, 2024 (WAM) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin has awarded Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa bin Shakhbout Al Nahyan, President of the Asian Chess Federation, with the Order of Friendship for his significant contribution to the promotion of chess both within Russia and on the international stage.
The award was presented during a meeting with President Putin at the plenary session of the 12th International Sport Forum "Russia – Country of Sports" held in Ufa, Russia.
The International Sport Forum "Russia – Country of Sports", which opened yesterday, runs until 19th October.
