ABU DHABI, 18th November, 2024 (WAM) -- Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination (ZHO) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Abu Dhabi Social Support Authority aimed at empowering beneficiaries of the Social Support Programme.
The MoU seeks to identify necessary training, rehabilitation, and professional programmes to enable beneficiaries, including People of Determination and social support recipients, to enter the workforce. It also focuses on selecting the target group to receive the agreed-upon programmes, establishing their participation criteria, and implementing electronic integration between both entities.
The MoU was signed by Abdullah Al Humaidan, Secretary-General of ZHO, and Dr. Bushra Abdullah Al Mulla, Director-General of Abu Dhabi Social Support Authority, at the organisation's headquarters.
Under the MoU, both parties will exchange data concerning the beneficiaries from the People of Determination through electronic linkage. The Authority will conduct assessments based on evaluation reports issued by the organisation to determine the qualifications, types of disabilities, and work capacity of applicants.
The Authority will also prioritise those who meet the criteria in ZHO's programmes, including People of Determination in volunteer and community programmes and any training programmes that promote their social integration. Additionally, family members will be involved in care programmes for People of Determination offered by the organisation.
For its part, ZHO will share with the Authority a list of available training and rehabilitation programmes, as well as the final reports on the status of beneficiaries from People of Determination. The organisation will also issue People of Determination ID cards to beneficiaries, when necessary, provide a suitable environment and support through direct communication, and offer advisory services according to their needs.
Additionally, the organisation will provide workshops and social education programmes for beneficiary families to enhance their skills in supporting People of Determination.
Al Humaidan praised the role of the Abu Dhabi Social Support Authority in supporting low-income families through the Abu Dhabi Social Support Programme and empowerment initiatives to ensure a dignified life for families. He acknowledged the Authority's strategic role in supporting and empowering beneficiaries for their integration into the workforce.
He emphasised that ZHO Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination is always committed to building partnerships with various national institutions and entities to enhance its services and support its programmes, which aim to empower and integrate different groups of People of Determination into society, particularly in workforce integration.
This commitment strengthens institutional efforts and partnerships between government entities, contributing to social stability and financial independence for families and reflecting effective inter-agency cooperation.
Dr. Bushra commended the significant role played by ZHO in empowering and integrating People of Determination into society, thereby promoting the principle of equal opportunities. She affirmed that the MoU will ensure that beneficiaries from the People of Determination receive the opportunities and programmes that enable them to enhance their societal contributions and participate in the workforce.
She added that the Abu Dhabi Social Support Authority aims to build strategic partnerships with various institutions to provide a social safety net for beneficiary families in Abu Dhabi, striving to empower financially independent and socially active families.
