Two killed in light aircraft crash in western Germany

BERLIN, 15th April, 2026 (WAM) -- Two people were killed when a light aircraft crashed in a forest in western Germany.

Stefan Kranen, Mayor of Hürtgenwald in North Rhine-Westphalia, said the aircraft crashed near the town after taking off from an airport near Aachen. Hikers discovered the wreckage inside a forested area.

Police said the cause of the crash remains unclear and that investigations are ongoing.
