NEW YORK, 30th July, 2026 (WAM) -- The three major US stock indices closed sharply lower on Wednesday after the Federal Reserve left interest rates unchanged.
The S&P 500 fell 111.36 points, or 1.50 percent, to close at 7,317.42 points, while the Nasdaq Composite declined 420.02 points, or 1.68 percent, to 24,460.08 points.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 1,129.03 points, or 2.14 percent, to end the session at 51,618.29 points.
