4.5-magnitude earthquake strikes Türkiye’s Gaziantep

ISTANBUL, 9th August, 2026 (WAM) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.5 has struck the Turkish city of Gaziantep.

The Disaster and Emergency Management Authority of the Turkish Ministry of Interior reported the incident.

The earthquake occurred in the Nurdağı district, with its epicentre located at a depth of 80 kilometre. The tremors were felt not only in Gaziantep but also in the provinces of Kilis, Kahramanmaraş, Osmaniye, and Hatay.

No casualties or damage have been reported.
