NEW YORK, 6th October, 2026 (WAM) -- US stocks advanced on Monday, with the Nasdaq Composite closing at a record high, supported by gains in Nvidia and Microsoft, as investors focused on falling oil prices and looked ahead to quarterly earnings reports.
The S&P 500 gained 51.50 points, or 0.67 percent, to close at 7,774.22, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 289.42 points, or 1.06 percent, to 27,480.28.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 94.59 points, or 0.18 percent, to finish at 51,274.32.
