NEW YORK, 16th October, 2026 (WAM) -- US stocks closed higher on Thursday, with the S&P 500 recovering from early losses as investors shifted away from artificial intelligence stocks towards healthcare and consumer shares.
The S&P 500 gained 0.33 per cent to close at 7,744.06 points, while the Nasdaq Composite edged up 0.08 per cent to 26,713.03 points. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 1.08 per cent to 52,177.69 points.
