NEW YORK, 17th October, 2026 (WAM) -- Wall Street closed sharply lower on Friday.
The S&P 500 index fell by 85.44 points, or 1.10%, to reach 7,658.62 points, while the Nasdaq Composite index dropped 572.99 points, or 2.15%, settling at 26,137.85 points.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average also declined by 189.01 points, or 0.36%, closing at 51,990.05 points.
