BEIJING, 26th January, 2024 (WAM) -- The 2024 CIFTIS ICT and Environmental Services Promotion Conference kicked off with the CEATEC Chinese New Year Reception in Beijing on 24th January.
More than 500 representatives from government, foreign embassies and consulates in China, business associations, research institutes, and enterprises attended the conference. On the occasion, attendees were impressed by the latest research and service capabilities of 40 institutions and companies, highlighting advancements in green and low-carbon technologies.
Zhou Ling, Deputy Director-General of Beijing International Trade in Services Center emphasised the crucial role of the service industry and trade in driving global economic and trade growth. “With the service industry contributing 65 percent to the global GDP and providing over 50 percent of employment, service trade has become a vital and dynamic part of international trade,” she noted.
As per the report published by China Economic Net, China is actively pursuing its digital transformation agenda in the service trade sector by 2024 with the goal of augmenting its knowledge and technological expertise. The aim is to capitalise on digital and green development prospects. The ICT segment of the current year's CIFTIS, as stated by the organisers, will prioritise innovation and technology empowerment. This section will encompass various domains including telecommunications, digital technology, artificial intelligence, integrated circuits, and industrial internet.
