ABIDJAN, 2nd February, 2024 (WAM) -- The Nigerian national team qualified for the semi-finals of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON), which is currently being held in Côte d’Ivoire, after defeating the Malian national team 1-0 at the Félix Houphouët Boigny Stadium.
The match's sole goal was scored by Nigeria's Ademola Lookman in the 41st minute.
The Nigerian national team – winner of 3 African title in 1980, 1994 and 2013 – became the first team to qualify for the semi-finals of the current edition, and will meet the winner of the South Africa and Cape Verde match.
