ROME, 15th March, 2024 (WAM) -- Italy's annual inflation rate remained stable at 0.8 percent in February, the same level as January, according to confirmation of a provisional estimate released by the national statistics agency, Istat, on Friday.
The agency said its consumer price index rose by 0.1 percent in month-on-month terms in February, Italian news agency, ANSA, reported.
The index had increased by 0.3 percent in January with respect to December. Istat said core inflation had remained on a downward trend. The index excluding energy and unprocessed food decreased from +2.7 percent to +2.4 percent in February, while the index excluding only energy goods went down from +3.0 percent to +2.7 percent.
