Abu Dhabi Chamber strengthens trade, investment ties with Chile

SANTIAGO, 25th April, 2024 (WAM) -- Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with th Chilean Federation of Industry (SFF) in Santiago. The agreement aims to boost trade and investment between Abu Dhabi and Chile, facilitating broader prospects and fostering business communities on both sides.This came on the sidelines of a high-level UAE delegation visit to Latin America, aimed at enhancing trade and investment relations.

Attendees at the signing included Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, and Rashed Abdulkarim Al Blooshi, Undersecretary of the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development. The memorandum was signed by Ahmed Khalifa Al Qubaisi, the Chief Executive Officer of Abu Dhabi Chamber, and Rodrigo Yáñez, Secretary-General of Sociedad de Fomento Fabril, in the presence of officials from both sides.

The memorandum seeks to strengthen ties between the UAE and Chilean markets, facilitating communication between business communities and commercial and investment companies in both countries. It also aims to open new channels for partnership in sectors of mutual interest such as renewable energy, mining, infrastructure, technology, and more.

Ahmed Khalifa Al Qubaisi emphasised the importance of signing the memorandum with Chile, highlighting the Chamber's commitment to expanding its economic and trade relations with the Latin American region, particularly Chile. He noted Chile's open economy, diverse resources, and attractive investment environment, making it a distinguished destination for economic partnership and cooperation with the UAE in general and Abu Dhabi in particular.

Al Qubaisi stated that the Chamber seeks to explore untapped export potentials between business communities in Abu Dhabi and Chile through organising trade missions to identify prospective areas for future cooperation, leveraging the unique potentials and capabilities of both countries.
