ROME, 21st May, 2024 (WAM) -- The arrival of artificial intelligence (AI) is a threat to the jobs of around 218,000 civil servants in Italy, according to a report presented at the 2024 Public Administration Forum here on Tuesday.
Italian news agency ANSA quoted the report as saying that around 57 percent of Italian civil servants, an estimated 1.8 million, will be 'heavily exposed' to the adoption of AI and 12 percent (218,000 people) risk being replaced outright.
The report added that the effectiveness of 80 percent of Italian civil servants could be improved by them incorporating AI into their work.
