ISLAMABAD, 26th July, 2024 (WAM) -- Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif directed authorities to create a comprehensive strategy for providing equal employment opportunities to the youth, emphasising their importance in the country's development, the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) reported.
Chairing a meeting regarding the Prime Minister's Youth Program in Islamabad, Sharif stressed the government's commitment to youth employment and urged a focus on job creation through the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NVTTC).
Additionally, he called for a detailed job market survey to guide skill training programmes.
The meeting also highlighted achievements in youth-oriented initiatives, including the distribution of laptops, successful job placements through skills training, funding for startups, and establishing sports academies.
It also mentioned upcoming programmes focused on environmental training and developing a national youth employment policy to create decent jobs and increase female workforce participation.
