ISLAMABAD, 8th August, 2024 (WAM) -- Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced a historic development budget allocation for the Information Technology and Telecom sectors in the current fiscal year, the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) reported.
During a meeting with a delegation from the GSM Association (GSMA), Sharif highlighted the government's prioritisation of IT exports and welcomed GSMA's planned Digital National Summit in Islamabad. The summit aims to promote telecommunication and IT in Pakistan.
The Prime Minister emphasised the government's focus on improving internet access, digital infrastructure, and E-Governance. He also stressed the importance of professional training for youth in digital skills and innovation, as well as promoting business within the sector.
