School shelling kills 3 in Gaza with hundreds besieged in hospitals

GAZA, 9th October, 2024 (WAM) -- Three Palestinian citizens were martyred and others injured in an Israeli strike on a school sheltering displaced persons in Jabalia, northern Gaza Strip.

The Palestinian Red Crescent reported that its teams transported three martyrs and 25 injured individuals, including children, to the Baptist Hospital following the Israeli targeting of Al-Rafi'i School, which serves as a shelter for the displaced in Jabalia.

In a preliminary toll, the number of martyrs since the onset of the Israeli aggression on Gaza on 7th October has risen to approximately 42,010, with 97,720 injured, the majority of whom are women and children. Additionally, thousands of victims remain trapped under rubble and in streets inaccessible to rescue teams.

The Gaza Health Ministry stated today that the Israeli army is besieging hundreds of patients, injured individuals, and healthcare workers in hospitals in the northern part of the Strip, demanding hospital administrations to evacuate without providing reasons.

It confirmed that the lives of hundreds of patients in hospitals in northern Gaza are now under threat due to the Israeli blockade.
