NEW YORK, 18th November, 2024 (WAM) – The Open Doors 2024 Report on International Educational Exchange today announced that the total number of international students at US colleges and universities reached an all-time high of 1,126,690 million international students in 2023/2024.
This represents a 7% year-on-year increase in international students, continuing a steady upward trend post-pandemic, explained the report.
According to the US Department of Commerce, international students contributed $50 billion to the US economy in 2023, primarily through tuition fees and living expenses. Despite heightened competition from study destinations such as the U.K., Canada and Australia, the US remains the most popular host country for international students across the globe.
