DUBAI, 27th November, 2024 (WAM) -- Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), discussed with Salvatore Caiata, Chairman of the UAE Friendship Group in the Italian Parliament, ways to enhance parliamentary cooperation between the two sides.
During the meeting, held as part of the Italian delegation's current visit to the UAE, the two sides reviewed coordination on various issues of mutual interest in regional and international parliamentary forums.
They also discussed exchanging expertise, knowledge, and parliamentary practices to enhance cooperation and coordination between the UAE and Italy across all fields.
Both parties emphasised the shared vision between the UAE and Italy regarding several significant international issues, reflecting the strength of bilateral relations, which serves mutual interests and bolsters collaboration on the global stage.
The FNC Speaker praised the Italian delegation's attendance at the opening session of the second term of the 18th legislative chapter of the FNC two days ago.
Salvatore Caiata praised the strong ties between the two countries, emphasising Italy's commitment to further developing these ties in reflection of the deep historical bonds between the two peoples.
The Italian delegation expressed admiration for the UAE's remarkable development, lauding the country's visionary leadership and its exemplary cultural renaissance.
A number of FNC members; members of the Italian parliament, and Lorenzo Fanara, Ambassador of Italy to the UAE, attended the meeting.
