Global Media Congress explores AI’s role in media

ABU DHABI, 28th November, 2024 (WAM) -- Dr. Hamad Al Kaabi, CEO of Aletihad News Centre, highlighted the Global Media Congress (GMC) as a vital platform for addressing key issues in the media industry, including challenges to journalism, media credibility, digital transformation, and the integration of artificial intelligence (AI).

Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS Research and Advisory, stated that the TRENDS’ participation in the congress centred on fostering dialogue, cooperation, and innovation in the media sector at both regional and international levels.

He added that TRENDS presented a range of distinguished research publications and organised seminars, dialogues, strategic sessions, and panel discussions. The centre also unveiled initiatives focused on leveraging AI in the media sector.

Muhammad Al Mulla, Kuwaiti media figure and founder of Diwan Al Mulla network, described the GMC as one of the leading global fora for the media industry. He noted the significant development and diversity of topics addressed, alongside the exchange of best practices and the establishment of strategic partnerships to advance the sector.

Abdulrahman Al Shmeri, Editor-in-Chief of Al Watan newspaper, emphasised that the congress unites prominent local and global media leaders to discuss critical issues, particularly the role of AI in the evolving media landscape. The discussions spotlight the advantages of AI and its potential for creating impactful content while exploring ways for media organisations to harness its capabilities.

He further explained that AI can drive innovation in the media sector and enhance employee skill development, reflecting the UAE’s commitment to adopting the highest international standards across various industries.
