International TCAM Congress commences tomorrow in Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI, 9th December, 2024 (WAM) – Abu Dhabi will host tomorrow the International Traditional, Complementary and Alternative Medicine (TCAM) Congress under the theme “The Role of TCAM in Emerging Prospects for Healthcare”.

Winners of the 3rd Edition of Sheikh Zayed International TCAM Award will be honoured on the final day of the conference which will close on December 12. The organising committee today held a preparatory meeting to discuss the final arrangements for the conference and its awards ceremony.

The committee said the conference will address the latest developments in areas of TCAM with a focus on promoting sustainability and innovation in healthcare treatments. It will also explore the importance of integrating modern and traditional medicine to enhance human well-being and provide innovative, sustainable treatment solutions. The conference will serve as a platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration among scientific and research communities in the TCAM field, aiming to develop comprehensive, forward-thinking healthcare solutions for societies globally.

The committee invites all interested professionals, researchers, and practitioners to participate in this significant event, which aims to shape the future of healthcare by combining the best of modern and traditional medical practices, while highlighting the importance of international cooperation in advancing the TCAM field.

The award is named after the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Founder of the UAE and a visionary statesman who devoted his life to building a strong foundation for an advanced society that benefits everyone, placing a high value on human capital and making significant investments in healthcare both within the UAE and abroad.

This award also comes in line with the rapid development witnessed by Abu Dhabi, in every field, from the economy, industry, education, medicine, science, agriculture, tourism, and even space sciences, under the wise leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The award features nine specialisations: Chinese Medicine; Ayurvedic Medicine; Prophetic Medicine; Unani Medicine; Homeopathy; Naturopathy; Osteopathy; Herbal & Traditional Medicine and Chiropractic.Medicine. A total of 35 winners, including nine in first edition and 26 in the second, were honoured.
