ABU DHABI,10th December, 2024 (WAM) – Abu Dhabi today hosted the International Conference on Standards of Conduct and Accountability in Military Activities, the Role of Military Law and International Humanitarian Law, and the Importance of Preventing Armed Conflicts.
Mattar Salem Ali Al Dhaheri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defense, along with several senior officers and officials attended the event, which is Jointly organised by the UAE Ministry of Defence and the International Society for Military Law and the Law of War.
General discussions tackled a range of issues including implementing International Humanitarian Law in challenging circumstances; preventing violations of International Humanitarian Law; legal aspects of medical care in situations of armed conflict; and international law aspects of contemporary and future military activities in space.
