SHARJAH, 11th December, 2024 (WAM) -- H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Judicial Council, welcomed a delegation from the Dubai International Financial Centre Courts (DIFC Courts) on Wednesday.
The delegation was led by Judge Omar Juma Al Muhairi, Vice President and Director of the Courts, and the meeting took place at the Ruler’s Office at the University of Sharjah.
During the meeting, the two sides explored key areas of collaboration between the judicial authorities of Sharjah and the DIFC Courts. H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed gained insight into the operational mechanisms of the centre, the services offered to registered entities and companies, and the court’s plans for expansion and its ongoing efforts to meet its objectives.
H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed was informed about the global models that underpin the DIFC Courts, as well as best practices and international standards aimed at achieving judicial efficiency, excellence, and jurisdiction. These efforts align with the broader national economic agenda of the United Arab Emirates.
He also learned about the various types of cases the court handles and the approach taken to resolve them. Additionally, the delegation provided information about the judges and specialists at the court, highlighting their expertise in managing diverse legal matters.
As a token of their visit, the delegation presented H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed with a copy of the annual publication of the DIFC Courts, followed by a photo opportunity to commemorate their meeting.
