Dubai to host Middle East Academy of Otolaryngology Conference on Friday

DUBAI, 8th April, 2025 (WAM) -- The 20th annual conference of the Middle East Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery will kick off this Friday in Dubai, held in conjunction with the first World Conference on Eustachian Tube Research and Interventions at the InterContinental Festival City Hotel in Dubai, with the participation of around 1,000 regional and international experts from 33 countries around the world.

Dr. Moaz Tarabichi, Co-Chair and Chairman of the Conference Organising Committee, said that this dual medical event, organised by InfoPlus, is among the most prominent specialised events in the region, forming an ideal platform to present the latest developments and discuss challenges and innovations in the specialty.

He noted that the ENT specialty has witnessed tremendous development in recent years, characterised by the diversity of precise and complex cases it covers, as well as being a specialty that combines clinical and surgical skills and serves all age groups.

He added that participants in the conference will benefit from a comprehensive programme that includes presentations, workshops, and networking opportunities aimed at enhancing their knowledge and practices.

The programme will shed light on disparities in the management of Eustachian Tube Disorders (ETD), promote collaborative research, standardise treatment protocols, and facilitate knowledge exchange at the international level.

For her part, Dr. Latifa Al Makoushi, President of the 20th Middle East Academy Conference and Assistant Professor of Pediatric Otolaryngology at King Abdulaziz University Hospital in Riyadh, explained that the scientific programme of the conference will offer a rich and diverse range of topics, including the latest diagnostic techniques, advanced surgical developments, and emerging treatments.

The programme will focus on subspecialties such as pediatric ENT surgery, rhinoplasty, head and neck surgery, ear surgery and vestibular balance, rhinology and sinusology, audiology, in addition to the “Balance Man” workshop.

She pointed out that the conference programme includes keynote lectures, guided educational courses, interactive discussion sessions, as well as a resident research competition hosting a group of regional and international experts.

She expressed her pride this year in hosting more than 100 speakers from all continents who will present a rich and distinguished scientific programme covering specialties including endoscopic nasal and skull base surgery, ear surgery and cochlear implants, pediatric otolaryngology, facial plastic surgery, sleep surgery, head and neck surgery, and audiovestibular medicine—confirming that this diversity enhances scientific discussions and ensures comprehensive coverage of real medical cases.

She noted that the scientific committee and speakers include 17 doctors and 133 regional and international lecturers, while the scientific programme features 52 scientific sessions, 625 scientific lectures and interactive discussions, 253 scientific research papers, 5 industry seminars, and several workshops, in addition to the participation of 30 resident doctors in the “Heinz Stammberger” global research competition.

More than 25 leading pharmaceutical and medical device companies will participate in the accompanying exhibition as sponsors and supporters of the event.
