DUBAI, 25th April, 2025 (WAM) -- Dubai AI Week is set to conclude with the announcement of the winning ideas from the “Dubai AI Week Hackathon: Agentic AI,” held at Area 2071 in Emirates Towers. The competition brought together leading innovators to develop autonomous AI agents capable of operating without human input — aimed at addressing real-life challenges and enhancing everyday life in Dubai.
Maryam Al Amri, CEO of Matterz Group from Oman and mentor at the hackathon, highlighted the importance of aligning technological innovation with human needs to create meaningful social and economic impact.
In statements to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), she explained that her role focused on guiding teams to think critically about the real-world value and consequences of their solutions. “We encourage teams to ask key questions: Who benefits? What’s the impact? Could it affect others negatively? True innovation responds to real human needs,” she said.
Al Amri noted that several projects targeted strategic industries such as real estate, travel, and logistics — areas in which the UAE offers strong potential for innovation. The proposed solutions could streamline decision-making, reduce costs, and enhance service quality.
She added that Dubai AI Week provides a strong launchpad for turning these ideas into viable projects, with support from both public and private sectors. Some real estate firms have already initiated conversations with teams about adopting their solutions.
Al Amri also praised the overall quality of entries, which ranged from near-ready products to promising ideas still in early development.
