BRUSSELS, 29th April, 2025 (WAM) -- The European Council President António Costa said there is no indication that a cyberattack is behind the widespread power outage that struck Spain and Portugal on Tuesday.
Costa, the former Portuguese prime minister, said in a post on X that he had spoken with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez and Portuguese Prime Minister Luís Montenegro regarding the outage, which disrupted public transport, caused severe traffic congestion, and delayed numerous flights.
"Grid operators in both countries are working to determine the cause of the blackout," Costa stated, stressing that "there is currently no evidence of any cyberattack."
