Qatar’s Ministry of Culture participates in Abu Dhabi International Book Fair

ABU DHABI, 30th April, 2025 (WAM) -- Qatar’s Ministry of Culture is taking part in the 34th edition of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, held under the theme “Knowledge Illuminates Our Community”, with participation from publishing houses and exhibitors representing 96 countries.

Speaking to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), Jassim Ahmed Al Buainain, Director of Libraries Department at the Ministry, said that the ministry is showcasing a range of its publications, alongside works from Qatari publishing houses, to support local publishers and provide them with international exposure.

He added that the participation seeks to highlight Qatar’s intellectual and cultural output through a series of new releases. The Ministry is also promoting its digital library platform and drawing attention to the ongoing development of the publishing industry in Qatar. In addition, it is raising awareness about the upcoming Doha International Book Fair, set to take place from 8th to 17th June.

Also representing Qatar at the fair is Hamad Bin Khalifa University Press, which is presenting a curated collection of titles spanning fiction, literature, short stories, and academic research.
