ADEK’s Counsellors Forum 2025 concludes in Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI, 2nd May, 2025 (WAM) -- The Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) has concluded the fifth Counsellors Forum, held at Khalifa University.

The event brought together more than 300 career and university guidance counsellors from private, charter, and public schools, along with representatives from embassies, industry experts, universities and educational institutions, and various government and private sector stakeholders.

The forum aimed to advance career and university guidance across Abu Dhabi, equipping counsellors with up-to-date resources, trends, and strategies to support students in exploring career options and post-secondary pathways.

Participants engaged in peer mentoring, explored university pathways, and connected with local stakeholders, reinforcing the policy’s objectives.

Discussions covered topics such as empowering students with diverse learning needs, government scholarships, and admissions trends. The forum also highlighted the policy’s emphasis on appointing qualified counsellors from Grade 8/Year 9, engaging parents, strengthening ties with universities and employers, and ensuring continuous professional development.

Key partners included the as Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research, ADNOC, ADIA, College Board, British Council, and Immerse Education, and Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).
