ABU DHABI, 5th May, 2025 (WAM) -- The UAE’s Armed Forces have become an inspiring model of efficiency, excellence, and leadership, said Lieutenant General Issa Saif bin Ablan Al Mazrouei, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, in a statement marking the 49th anniversary of the unification of the Armed Forces.

“May 6 is a proud milestone for every member of our Armed Forces, as we commemorate the historic moment when our Founding Fathers, led by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, united our forces under one flag. It was a moment of profound vision and determination that gave rise to a cohesive and resilient national military, firmly rooted in unity and unwavering faith.
Over the past 49 years, our Armed Forces have built a remarkable legacy of pride, commitment, and dedication. In every arena—from military defence operations to humanitarian missions—they have delivered outstanding performance, maintaining steadfast loyalty to our wise leadership, headed by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. Through his enduring support and guidance, our Armed Forces have become a global model of excellence and leadership.
As we mark this cherished occasion, we look back with pride on the achievements that have shaped our Armed Forces, and we look forward with confidence and resolve to a promising future—raising the banner of unity high and ensuring that the UAE’s name continues to shine in both defense and humanitarian fields worldwide.
