ABU DHABI, 21st May, 2025 (WAM) -- Tadweer Group hosted the first edition of its “Empowering Youth Platform”, an event that underscored the crucial role of young people in advancing sustainability within both public and private sectors
The event aimed to foster their active involvement in developing practical and impactful initiatives aligned with national goals. It also reinforced the message that waste is a valuable resource to be harnessed and transformed for a more sustainable future.
The event was attended by over 50 participants, including 37 youth council members from leading organisations such as ADNOC, Mubadala, the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD), TAQA, NMDC Group, Emirates Youth Council, Abu Dhabi Ports, Higher Colleges of Technology, Zayed University, among others.
Khalid Al Nuaimi, Director-General of the Federal Youth Authority, said that empowering youth in sustainability is a core pillar of the UAE’s vision, emphasising the need to encourage them to take on leadership roles in the green and circular economy in line with the National Youth Agenda 2031.
Abdulwahed Juma Farish, Executive Director of Communications and Awareness at Tadweer Group and Chairman of the Youth Council Committee, affirmed the council’s commitment to empowering youth to lead sustainable change through practical initiatives and innovative partnerships in the circular economy.
Several expert-led sessions were held during the gathering covering themes such as data-driven decision-making, placemaking, and public awareness. One of the key event outcomes was identifying more than ten potential cross-entity collaborations, reinforcing Tadweer Group’s role as a catalyst for youth-driven sustainability partnerships.
Following the launch of the Tadweer Group Youth Council at the 11th edition of EcoWASTE Exhibition and Conference earlier this year, this initiative reflects Tadweer Group’s broader commitment to engaging stakeholders at all levels to co-create sustainable solutions for a greener future.
