ADJD launches new brand for correctional and rehabilitation centre products

ABU DHABI, 26th May, 2025 (WAM) -- The Correctional and Rehabilitation Policies Committee at the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) has approved a new brand identity for the products of the correctional and rehabilitation centres, under the name "Edmaj" (Arabic for "Inclusion").

This initiative reflects a sustainable approach aimed at enhancing inmates’ opportunities for effective and positive reintegration into society.

Announcement came during a committee meeting chaired by Counsellor Yousef Saeed Al Abri, Undersecretary of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department.

The committee reviewed development plan for rehabilitation and production programmes within the centres, along with mechanisms to promote inmates’ products under a unified identity that aligns with community integration goals and supports socio-economic empowerment.

Counselor Al Abri stated that "Edmaj" represents a practical implementation of a comprehensive strategy aimed at developing rehabilitation programmes and transforming them into supportive platforms that help inmates build new lives based on skills, work, and productivity that reflect the humanitarian and social dimensions of the rehabilitation programmes.

Al Abri emphasised the commitment of centres to creating a fully integrated rehabilitative environment focused on education, training, and production, with the goal of equipping inmates with the knowledge and skills that enhance their interaction with their surroundings and support constructive participation, societal stability, and the promotion of tolerance and coexistence.

Initiative coincides with the opening of a permanent exhibition showcasing products made by inmates of the correctional and rehabilitation centres, located at the main headquarters of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department.

The exhibition provides a platform to display the outcomes of the vocational training programme, allowing the public to discover the inmates’ capabilities and developed skills.

Moreover, exhibitions serve as a sustainable channel for marketing a wide range of products, including woodwork, handicrafts, and artistic creations, offering broader economic integration opportunities for inmates upon completion of their sentences.
